Situation
I was hired by RUNNER to help develop a brand for a new client of theirs, Advanced Devices. Advanced Devices provides quality electronic components to engineers and manufacturers. The company needed a brand image and online presence that spoke to the quality of their company's products. Being a relatively new company, we were starting from scratch. Most designers would agree, starting from scratch can be both amazing and intimidating.
Objective
My mission was to design a new brand identity system, complete with a logo, a multi-phase website rollout, and a range of collateral for business communication. RUNNER had already conducted a brand and market exploration with the client which provided the necessary criteria and resources to get started.
Approach
Working directly with the client and RUNNER I guided the design process from start to finish. The logo design process for Advanced Devices focused on creating a simple and prominent mark. The rollout of the website was broken down into two phases. The first phase focused on introducing the company’s services and products. The second phase, based on design elements from the first phase, incorporated an e-commerce platform displaying their products. A huge benefit of this whole initiative was the involvement of the client. They were enthusiastic about the logo design and that enthusiasm was encouraged in design discussions.
Results
Working directly with the client throughout the initial phases of the identity development process immensely aided and informed decisions made throughout the project. The launch of the brand was a complete success.
